Built-in GPS on the HTC s730
Posted by Mike Temporale in "Smartphone News" @ 05:45 AM
When HTC announced the s730, there was a lot of questions floating around the net about this device. The main question was if it really had a built-in GPS or not. There was a couple early reviews that talked about successfully connecting to the GPS. But it wasn't 100% clear if they that was built in or not. I took the question to my sources and the news I got back was very exciting. The s730 is using the Qualcomm MSM7200 processor and as such, it has a built-in GPS. The GPS even has an antenna attached to it. However, it is not something that HTC is supporting. That means that there is no software to 'enhance' the connection or useability of that GPS. But it is there and it can be used.
That means the s730 is a powerhouse in the specs department with 400MHz processor, 256MB ROM, 64MB RAM, HSDPA/UMTS, QuadBand, 2 MegaPixel camera, and a built-in GPS. A very impressive device. Our affiliate store lists the s730 as arriving in stock on November 10th. You can pre-order one now for $554.95.
