Turn Your Smartphone into a WiFi Router
Posted by Mike Temporale in "Smartphone Software" @ 10:30 AM
"Turn your Windows Mobile phone into a Wi-Fi router, providing any Wi-Fi-capable device access to your cell plan's data network, with freeware application WMWifiRouter. Install WMWifiRouter to your phone, run the application, and it automatically sets up an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network named WMWifiRouter that you can connect your laptop—or any other wireless device—to without going through the regular pain involved in tethering an internet connection to your mobile device."
I was talking with Steve Hughes from Boston Pocket PC the other day and he gave me a quick heads up on this really cool new application for WiFi enabled devices. It allows you to share the data plan on your mobile deivce with other WiFi enabled devices like your laptop. No more headaches with Bluetooth pairing and lack of DUN on your device. If you have WiFi on your device, this tool makes it possible to share that data plan. Unfortunately for me, I don't have wireless on my new BlackJack II so I can't give this a whirl. Anyone here installed this? Please let us know your thoughts on it.
