Smartphone Thoughts: Asus working on the O2 Xda Zest Windows Mobile Smartphone

"And another device Asus currently works on but this time it seems to be an OEMproduct-most likely for O2. The GCF (Global Certification Forum) just approved the Asus GM5, codenamed "Christal" which seems to be developed for O2 as the "Xda Zest". As always, the GCF doesn't gives any indication what kind of device the device might be but since it is called "Xda Zest", it's most likely that it is a new Windows Mobile smartphone. So far, it's only confirmed that the device supports triband GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) as well as singleband UMTS (2100 MHz), UMTS video telephony and browsing capabilities"

Speculation states Asus has another Windows Mobile Smartphone in the making. This seemingly low spec Smartphone doesn't really seem to dress to impress minus the UMTS video telephony technology. Not much information is given on the device but we'll make sure to bring you more news and updates on it as they become available.
