"The long-anticipated and much-rumoured Mio 8390 smartphone made its official debut at a product launch held in Taiwan today, becoming the third product to be launched based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphone platform. As MiTAC's second entry in the smartphone market, the tri-band GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz 8390 model makes a splash with a speedy processor and a broad feature set.
A clamshell phone, the Mio 8390 offers a monochrome external display for Caller ID purposes, complete with indicators for battery life and signal reception, as well as the ability to display the time. The 2.2" internal display cranks up the heat with 18-bit colour support, rendering the 8390 capable of displaying up to 262,144 colours."
It's a little light with only 16 Meg RAM, but that screen is going to be amazing. The article also mentions a price of $475 USD and a street date of early February. Check out page 2 and 3 of the linked article for some high-res pictures. I like the red face plate.
