I had the opportunity to talk with a representative from Sierra Wireless regarding the possibility of a Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade being released for the Voq Professional phone. Unfortunately, they appear to have the same attitude about upgrades as Orange. Sierra expects to have a next generation Voq phone available in the first half of 2006, but they have no public announcements around the Voq Professional and Windows Mobile 5.0. I'm certain our Voq readers will be upset with this news. Despite the lack of Bluetooth and embedded camera, the Voq is a wonderful phone with a great foldable keyboard for text entry. It's too bad that we aren't seeing more OEM's offering upgrades. Sad

I can similarly confirm that i-mate will not be offering upgrade ROM for i-mate JAM users out there. At least this was their position before the official release of Windows Mobile 5.0

Here is a quote from an email reply they sent on the 18th of April:
