Microsoft's Virtual Earth has gathered a lot of attention since it's launch. In fact, if you haven't already done so, I suggest you take it for aspin. Better yet, why not take it for a spin on your Smartphone? It appears that you can install Pocket Earth on your Smartphone, and it works just fine! I haven't had a chance to snap any screenshots yet. So if any of you get a minute to take a screen shot or two, I'm sure our readers would be most appreciative. Wink You can download the CAB file here.

I don't see how to attach a screenshot.

Check it out it's a neat little app, even if a little rough. Just copy the cab file to your device and run it with file explorer.

Biggest bummer is it doesn't work wirelessly on my Tmobile connection. Probably not using port 80 to grab the map data.

Ah, sorry, we don't have the ability for people to upload pictures. If you could email the pictures to news at www.SmartphoneThoughts.com, we'll add it to the post. Thanks!

It is a bit slow on my Cingular GPRS but it does work. Smile

Thanks for sending them to us. I've added them to the main post, and Jerry's posted his own here too. Looks like a pretty useful tool. Smile

This tool or similar ones has a lot of potential. Once the Points of Interest items like restaurants, parking lots, hotels are plotted on to the satellite image, then this will be one powerful app.

Haven't tried it yet because the MSN Virtual Earth maps of my area are too old to be useful. Good concept for the future.

The maps for Canada are lacking too, but I've been playing with it to spy on people in their backyards. Mr. Green Wink
