There appears to be a ROM update for the Cingular 2125. Rumor has it that it addresses some 3G SIM card issues. Now before you rush off to flash your phone (I haven't yet) consider a few things. First, it doesn't have AKU2. Second, it doesn't appear to upgrade the OS at all. You end up with the same ROM version. The only thing that does change is the Radio Version. Mine is 4.0.13.20_01.09.01. The new one is 4.0.13.21_01.16.01. Cingular has no trace of this ROM on their site. This comes from HTC's site which is notorious for not explaining anything. Worth wiping out everything and starting over? You decide. Smile

Well, Palm has really raised the bar with the Treo 700w upgrade (with MSFP no less) keeping all your settings and applications.

Should be interesting to see if others raise their game too - this news isn't very promising though.

Hmmm the executable's file name is:

To_CWS_1090_184214_401321_SHIP_EngineerMode.exe

Engineer Mode? Wonder if that's a clue?

Seems like others are raising the bar, except Cingular is taking their time:
Orange released MSFP for their 2125-like phone
i-mate released it for their HTC Wizard type device, I believe.

Well, Palm isn't the first ones to offer this. But it's nice to see everyone doing it. Just wish cingular and T-Mo would get their versions out. Makes me glad I got an i-mate. Mr. Green

i have a friend that got the c600 because he couldn't stand the wait for the 2125. used orange's rom for a bit and then flashed his device with the 2125 rom. according to him cingular's rom preforms A LOT better then orange's rom.

cingular might take a bit of time to get the rom released but chances are it will be stable as heck Smile
