the way WM 5.0 works with "persistent storage", all that would be required is for you to copy the necessary ROM partitions. however, upgrading to a new ROM/firmware version may prove your backups incompatible.

a utility that does that for you? hah Very Happy unless you have the knowledge to write your own utility or even implement a mechanism through enterprise aggregation-specific features, like "Corporate Install" on the O2 XDA Exec, then you're most likely going to have to wait until MS integrates something like that into ActiveSync.

Sprite Backup for Mobile 5 Beta, works great, albeit not self restoring backup files, yet. To fix that, just install it on the mini-SD card and associate the backup file with it and you've got self restoring backups...and it's fast.

That's really annoying. I had to get a replacement Cingular 2125 recently due to a malfunctioning vibrate mechanism and it was tedious to have to re-install everything and set up all my preferences.

I hear that. I have mine all set just like I want it and no way to back it up. If I have a meltdown I'll have to start from scratch. Crying or Very sad

Yeah. First your phone has a meltdown... then you personally have a meltdown from having to reinstall and recustomize. Very Happy

Last time I checked - around the middle of last week, it wasn't available. Even if Sprite released a version tomorrow, I don't think I would buy it. They've had access to Windows Mobile 5 for almost a year now and they still don't have this product ready. Besides that, their customer support has been down right misserable. Just check out their forums and see for yourself. Don't even get me started about the lack of a trial version. Rolling Eyes
