It looks like the internet's best home screen creator has turned his efforts to the new landscape devices like the Motorola Q and the Samsung i320. His new MyDigitalAssistant home screen offers a cool mouse over effect, uses the all day event plugin, and oddly enough, a WiFi status indicator. Neither the Q nor the i320 have WiFi, at least not in their current versions, but that HTC QWERTY device we talked about yesterday is rumored to have WiFi. Anyway, regardless of which landscape device you might have, there's now a cool home screen for you. Very Happy

I don't think I would agree with that. Right now, there is a big push on to get into the RIM BlackBerry market. So you're seeing a lot of corporate focused messaging devices - QWERTY without a touchscreen.

But you can't overlook the impact that the 5600, 2125, and the soon to be released 3125 (StrTrk) are having on the consumer market. They're all super small and very powerful devices.

The hot news might be the bigger messaging devices, but the Windows Mobile Smartphones are much more than those devices. Cool

In addition...The Q and similar, may be wider...but I wouldnt consider them as being BIGGER. They are SUPER thin, VERY light, and compared to other MS Smartphones....not really THAT much wider.

Plus they have a QWERTY keyboard. Which I personally could take or leave. They are nice...but not the most necessary feature for me.

BACK ON TOPIC:
msmobiles writes this in his article...
Quote:

"The home screen artist "kleinweder", who created this beautiful landscape home screen with use of HTC Excalibur smartphone, writes:
I finally found time to put up my very first PUBLIC homescreen for the new screen orientation (Landscape 320 x 240 pixels!)!
My first landscape smartphone is with me since pretty much two weeks now and I just love it! I did a lot of landscape homescreens in the last few weeks but they are not public so here is the first one which is available for everyone for free download:
It features the new plugin which display the WiFi-Status and allows showing the communcation manager with just one click as well as:
- Messaging-Counter (SMS, E-Mail & MMS)
- Profile
- Calendar
- AllDay-Events
...and of course Operator, Date and Time! Smile "

If msmobiles meant to do it or not...seems he points out the Kleinweder had the HTC device you mention...or something similar to that rumor. Hopefully it will see the light if day soon!

Does the small guy on the lower-right corner of the screen actually do something? Does it function like an Office Assistant? Smile

All the little man does is ruin the look of the screen. It looks good on my Q but the little man bugs me so much its I can't use it! Mad
