Would have been great if they did this two months ago before I bought one......'course - it will make it worth more with 2 extended batteries when I put mine on eBay.
Now if they will only give us Windows Mobile 6 I would feel like I didn't get hosed buying this phone...... |
I'd have to disagree a bit. WM6 would be a nice (and welcome) upgrade, but I don't feel "hosed" by the current OS. In fact, with the customizations that Samsung include (eg Launcher) it is already superior to most WM 5 units I've seen or used.

I say 'hosed' because this device is 'new and state of the art' as advertised by Cingular and Samsung. If they fail to upgrade us when this product is fairly new to the market they deprive us of some key capabilites that a business user would find very helpful.
1. Ability to edit Office Documents (Without paying for the over-priced and slow Documents to GO application).
2. Better Stability
3. Better Battery Life.
4. (Hopefully) fix the wacked up Bluetooth implementation that Samsung hacked in.
I am not asking for a free upgrade. A nominal fee would, in my mind, be appropriate.

I got IMEI not valid. Have any others gotten that? Yes, I am a cingular customer, but I am a fairly recent convert. 2 months I've had a blackjack now. Also, interestingly, mine came with both regular and extended batteries. I wonder if they are only giving the extended battery away to those of you who didn't get one initially?

I've done the GSM only connection rate so my battery usually lasts through the day but frustrating that Cingular/NewATT(still laughing) won't honor mine.

loom, it only works if your original Blackjack came with 2 standard batteries. That's why the IMEI check is there. Cingular knows who got the extended battery already!

When I go out to the Cingular rebate site to verify I get:
Your rebate has completed the first 1 of 5 steps
We have received your Web submission and are waiting on your mailed submission.

That's standard. Look at the submission type, it says "web". On all my mail in rebates it will say "mail in" you are OK.
