Everyone wants push email support, but not everyone has access to a hosted Exchange server. This is where emoze steps in. I was using this a lot. However, I had two issues that I don't think they haven't fixed yet, at least according to the version info on emoze.com.

Issues (Samsung Blackjack and Treo 750):
1. Battery - it really drains your battery faster that any other push software. Somebody said to change the email settings to check every 5 minutes and it should improve the battery. Why call it Push Email if you're going to do this.

2. Re-curring appointments on Exchange 2003. It doesn't show any re-curring appointments, only one-time appointments you will get.

Too bad, it would have been a nice program over my Express Mail (Cingular).

I've tried it twice in the last 3 months. It does work as a push mail solution, but as mentioned in other posts, it is a HUGE battery drain. Second, when trying to use it in a secured, corporate, fire-walled, proxied environment, there are not enough options or feedback on configuring the PC based component of the software. It seems to find the server on the internet, but can't log into it.

Instead, I'll keep my Mail2Web free hosted Exchange account that uses Microsoft's standard push-mail solution. Simply works, and doesn't hinder battery life in push-mode.

This looks very interesting to me since our company usese Lotus Notes. Currently I only synchronize with my Notes data when "docked". I have to use a 3rd party program to connect the Notes data to my smartphone. I'm wondering if this would work the same (since it's free) and I could set it up to only synchronize when I'm connected to my work PC. It seems like it could be possible.

I'm looking at this type of method due to not wanting to buy a data package and my company's IT dept gets paranoid about running stuff on there servers. Of course I could set this up to run on my own work computer.

Any comments??

Well I downloaded it and it keeps asking me to use outlook or change my default email client... my default email client is lotus notes.. this software is POS Evil or Very Mad

I used it for a short while. It worked fine but killed my battery very quickly. It seemed like it was in constant communication. My Q was almost too hot to handle.

i decided to try this after our company turned off ActiveSync push access in favor of crack-berries. i installed it and and kept getting an "initialization error (Error 11)" message. i submitted a support request 3 days ago and still no word. and you guys are right about battery draining...it will suck the life out of your battery. this looked so promising...

i'd use Verizon's WirelessSync tool, but for some reason, everytime i try to send email, it gets hung in my Outbox. needless to say, Verizon's support is worthless on this matter.

my other option was to have my corp email forwarded to another account, but that feature was also disabled. any suggestions?

i refuse to go the crack-berry route!

There are a couple other free push email clients out there. If this one is giving you problems, you might want to try others. Is the good client free? I know they have a full service app that costs $$ but I thought they also offered a free version. Regardless there are a couple other choices. I would try them all until you find one that works for you and costs the right amount. Very Happy
