http://www.motorola.com/mediacenter...Id=8150_8079_23
"Motorola, Inc. today introduced two new MOTO Q products: the MOTO Q 8, the GSM version of the original award-winning CDMA-based MOTO Q, as well as the flagship, lightening-fast global quad-band 3G QWERTY, MOTO Q 9, which is available in Italy this week. The MOTO Q 9, based on the Windows Mobile 6™ operating system, couples a new sleek form factor with a dual-processor HSDPA/UMTS engine, enabling broadband-like over-the-air downloads at up to 3.6Mbps1. Consumers will be able to download their favorite music tracks directly onto the Q 9 in approximately six seconds without having to touch a computer."
Moto sure managed to keep the Q 8 all hush-hush. I wonder why? It's not like it's the star here. The Q 9 is clearly the focus of the press release and everyone's attention. So why leak the 9 early and keep the 8 quiet? Anyway, the Q 9 will be available in Italy this week and launching in other locations over the coming months. No word on the Q 8 and when it will be available.
Update: I've added a picture of the two new Moto Q devices. I got it from the Moto Launch site. There are plenty of high res pictures there - if you can navigate past the slowness of the site.

Looks like the Moto Launch is undergoing some maintenance.

With file sync on WM6 Standard, the Q 9 looks mighty fine.
The ninja is in place of the smoking pimp guy, which I cannot find in the smilies for this site.

Yeah, that's one of those small details that we haven't gotten around to.
I'm really liking the Q9, maybe even enough to open my wallet and order one. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this for sure. (Just don't let my wife know - she's still getting over the xbox 360 I picked up on the weekend. )

I've been looking at Guitar Hero and it will be mine soon enough.

I want to be excited about the Q9, I really do, but it looks as if they skimped out on the screen real estate. Also, this device looks a bit thick compared to what we are use to with all the new super thin Smartphones.

The screen is the same size (2.4") as the largest Smartphones. It is a hair bigger at 118 x 67 x 11.8 mm (4.6 x 2.6 x 0.46 inches) as opposed to 117 x 64 x 11.5 mm (4.6 x 2.5 x 0.46 inches) for the Q, but not that much. I guess we keep expecting things to get smaller each time, though, so any increase in size is shocking.

it looks a lot thicker in images
i wish they would just release images of the phone in a person's hand so we could really tell the actual size

Watch for my post coming tomorrow morning. It should help shed some light on this.
