what do i do to get the ringtone?

when i try to impot the file to audacity it says it doesnt recognize the type of file so try to import raw. i do this and it opens but once i try to play it it just makes a swish noise and it doesnt play the song. help me please.

Hey, do you know what type of song it is? Also, did you copy the song off a cd first? I would think that if you are copying directly from a cd it would case trouble.
If you need to extract an mp3 from a cd, I use CDEX:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos/
for this purpose.
Other than that, I don't know. Maybe you have a corrupt input file. I have not run into this problem, so I wouldn't know what to do without knowing more.

i cant get this thing to work still! can you just send me the tone i request and i put them on my phone cause the audacity program is too confusing and i cant get any of my songs i import to play?

Yeah, sorry, no can do. I don't see why it doesn't work though. Are you sure you have copied the *MP3* from a cd or other location?

when i try to play the uploaded file it just clicks instead of playing the song. what do i do with the lame mp3 coding gizmo?

now how do i get it to play on my phone? i cant get it from the sounds file to the actual ringtone

If you go to Start>Settings>Sounds you should be able to select the new tones as your ringtone.

ITS NOT ON MY RINGTONES LIST. WHEN I TRY TO RUN IT IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT AN XML? HELP IS APPRECIATED.
