"...the brand-new operating system could be called “Windows Mobile 5.0 Second Edition” for it lacks tons of all-new features and total system revamp as in the case of Windows Mobile 5.0. The most considerable upgrades are coming up in the next version, being developed under the codename of “Windows Mobile Photon” scheduled for release in two years time at best. Being under the pressure of launches of new products in its software range, including MS Windows Vista, MS Office 2007, MS Exchange 2007, Microsoft had no other choice but release an updated version of Windows Mobile."

Most of this centers on Pocket PC's but it is interesting none the less. It seems this next update will bring nothing really new to the table. I suspect Microsoft is very tired from working on Vista. Laughing

I wish they had posted the screen shot of the call history screen. Will it show the timestamp without the need for scrolling down. Confused

Surprised that Office Mobile hasn't been improved. I thought there were plans to launch a new version which will allow editing of the documents on the mobile device without loosing the formatting information specified on the desktop version.

The VoIP is a good feature to have.

I don't think this next version will be anything to get too excited about. Sad

You might want to wait for the next version as this one is more like dot release (should be WM5.5 or WM SE). The next version will bring more to be excited about.
