I found this forum on application unlock the Q and it also worked for my BJ. Before this I could not make some registry changes but after I followed the instructions it worked great.

Before I made these changes I installed a couple apps with no issues. The reason I needed to fully application unlock the i607 was so i can make registry changes and if I want to put my own ssl certificates. The unit was not fully unlocked. I wanted to get rid of the start up sound "the 3G sound" at power on and power off for me to accomplish that I needed to make registry changes. Soo not sure how unlocked the unit comes from Cingular.

Here is a Speed hack also but you need to fully unlock your phone for the reg changes.
1) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE
-> change limit from 16384 to 32768

2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\STORAGEMANAGER\FATFS
-> change cachesize to 4096
