hey guys
my red-e has been upgraded to 1055
but i am experiencing problems with the phone where it locks up periodically
while not in use
sometimes it seems to be stuck in a power saving mode the screen updates about every 5 seconds
other times it just seems to be boorked in general and the only way to reset it is to remove the battery and reinsert
but this morning my phone seemed to lock up while it was turned off with the battery charging ...
does this look like a hardware problem?
or what?
thanks

Is this from the develops kit? You're not the first to have issues with 1055, but I haven't seen this one yet. Have you hard reset the device? Give that a shot, and if you still have problems, ring Everlink. Let me know if you need the contact info.

My phone with 1055 has been mostly stable...it may lock up or partially freeze once in two weeks and I know the two conditions that causes it...
1. When I have the phone connected to my laptop/pc thru USB and I restart the PC. The PC reboot I guess forces the PC to do USB device reset or identification, which freezes the phone.
2. I noticed that occassionaly when surfing the net, my IE freezes, but the phone works, I can hit the home screen and kill all apps and get going again !!
The frequent freeze and especially the lock up while the phone is being charged overnite, are problems we had with the older ROM builds.
Was your upgrade successful....dont know if u can reinstall an upgrade..I would suggest that if u r planning on doing a reset.
But I agree with David...reset...if it doesnt work..call Everlink...find out if u can reinstall ROM...
and let us know how u fixed the problem.
Kris
1055 has been stable...

well my current hypothesis is that when the phone is hung that it is locked (as in press the right soft key and then pound to unlock ) and stuck in power saving mode
i am currently waiting to test this theory (reproduce)
does anyone know of a fix for the getting stuck in power saving mode issue thanks

has anyone else linked this behavor to the sd cards?
just curious..
