Samsung Makes the i620 Official for Europe
Posted by Mike Temporale in "Smartphone News" @ 02:00 PM
"Today, during its IFA press conference in Berlin, Samsung Germany officially announced the previously unveiled SGH-i620 Windows Mobile 6 Standard HSDPA smartphone. Featuring a slide-out QWERTY (for Germany QWERTZ) keyboard, the i620 is a kind of updated version of the Samsung SGH-i600. Like the i600, the i620 features triband (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE and singleband (2100 MHz) UMTS/HSDPA and Bluetooth 2.0."
It looks like the original launch of the i620 will be focused in Europe since this phone is only Tri-band. I hope they follow it up with something for those of us in North America. The initial rumours of this phone had it featuring WiFi. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case as the announcement today showed that there was no WiFi on this unit.
