I have not personally used any of Conduits products though each of these sound useful. The updates provide many added features and bug fixes. Each product is available for a 30-day demo. So who has tried any or all of these programs, and what do you think?

HTC Star Trek Multiple Line Tweak

Posted by Mike Temporale in "SOFTWARE" @ 08:00 AM

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=242936

For all of you that managed to get your hands on HTCs latest Smartphone marvel, the Star Trek, you might be interested in this new registry tweak that allows you to easily toggle between lines.

Done

Press and Hold # to switch between Line 1 and Line 2

I made the registry change on my SP5m, but I don't have multiple lines, so I can't say if it worked or not. Does anyone else want to give it a try and report back? Note: Standard registry editing warning applies. One wrong move and you could be looking at a hard reset for your device. ;)

Advanced Tetris Offers Multiple Gaming Modes

Posted by Mike Temporale in "SOFTWARE" @ 12:00 PM

http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=1480

"Advanced Tetris for Windows Mobile is a new reworking of classic Tetris with some extra features and variations. It is, in fact, seven Tetris games in one: the original Tetris, Pentix, Color Tetris, Kids Tetris, Kids Pentix, Advanced Tetris and Advanced Pentix. Pentix is a popular variation of Tetris that uses pieces of different shapes. It may be considered more challenging than good old Tetris. Colour Tetris changes Tetris in that when three or more tiles of the same color in a multicoloured blocks touch in any direction they eliminate themselves. Kids Tetris and Kids Pentix are extremely addictive games for young kids. Children get to work on their spatial skills as they attempt to piece together blocks of different shapes to form complete rows. While classic Tetris involves variations of 4 blocks, this version uses random variations of 2, 3 or 4 blocks. Advanced Tetris and Advanced Pentix have two extra game pieces in the shape of Destroyer and Creator."

Here's another version of Tetris for the Smartphone. This one looks like it offers a wide variety of game modes. You can download a trial version or purchase a license for Advanced Tetris for $12.95 from our Affiliate store.

Multiple Button Press Problems With The New C500

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 02:30 PM

http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=113611&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

"You heard it here first, and it's not good news if you're a gamer i'm afraid... Forum member 'muff' has highlighted a problem where the C500 keypad cannot accept any other input at the same time as pressing the joystick / scroller. We have already raised this problem with Orange / HTC, and word has come back that this is a HARDWARE problem, and as such, no fix will be available in the current hardware. So, fingers crossed that HTC learn from their mistakes and fix it in future phones, but it definitely limits the C500s gaming potential"

Paul From MoDaCo posted this over the weekend. I'm a little shocked that problems like this still exist, especially from HTC. They have been making mobile devices for long enough to know better. It's not a big issue for me, because I'm not a huge gamer, but I know this is a deal breaker for a lot of you.

Finally! Multiple Email Accounts with Sunnysoft MailCenter 1.0

Posted by Jason Dunn in "SOFTWARE" @ 09:46 AM

"Sunnysoft MailCenter v1.0 is our brand new application for Smartphone users. If you are one of them you have probably noticed that it is impossible to manage more email accounts in the standard Microsoft's Inbox. And that is why our Sunnysoft MailCenter entered the market. It will enable you to define and manage unlimited number of email accounts, either individually or altogether. Sunnysoft Mail Center enables you to create and manage unlimited number of POP3/IMAP4 email accounts. Main features:

Individual folders are created for each account.
Acces to the original account with ActiveSync and messages.
Individual or en masse sending of messages.
E-mails can be sorted out by standard parametres.
Data can be stored in any folder.
Receiving, saving and sending of attachments is supported.
 Deleting of emails support.
 Font changes are enabled.
Possibility to delete or leave the email on server.
Download of header/complete email/part of email supported.
All types of connection incl. ActiveSync"

Words can't express how excited I am about this software! My Smartphone has been hobbled by the single-Inbox limitation, and now it's going to have wings with this new software from Sunnysoft. I'm so excited about it I bought a copy right away instead of asking for a media evaluation copy like I normally do. I hope it lives up to my expectations! Download it and tell me what you think! [Affiliate]

UPDATE: Grr. I guess I should have tried it first - Sunnysoft didn't sign their application, so it won't work on my phone. <sigh> :?
