Mergers Coming in 2004?

The Boston Globe looks into 2004 and lays out some of the possible consolidation that might take place in the U.S. cellular phone market. AT&T Wireless and Cingular have been the match made in a many a rumor for a while now. There's also the AT&T/T-Mobile theory. One other popular idea seems to involve Verizon and Sprint. I seriously doubt that since they each have local and long-distance in addition to their wireless businesses. I expect regulatory clearance would not come for that pairing.Do you think there will be a major merger in 2004? Who will it be?
