"My Little Tank is a fun arcade-style blaster offering hours of miniature tank mayhem! Through 60 action-packed levels you must shoot enemy tanks, defend your base, and destroy enemy radar stations and bases. You will encounter a range of hostile terrains including snow, swamp, plains and deserts. As levels progress, tougher enemies will appear that require more than one shot or more effective weapons."

A Little Tweak Here And There

Posted by Jerry Raia in "ARTICLE" @ 01:00 PM

http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=reviews&id=668

"The ability to customize your Smartphone is one advantage Windows Mobile has over other phones. From customizing the homescreen to hacking the system to get it working the way you want, Windows Mobile gives you the freedom you need. Unfortunately doing these things isn't as easy to do as one might like. Luckily there are savvy program developers out there willing to help with this. Tweak2K2 .NET is aiming to help with some common hacks for the Smartphone. Tweak2K2 .NET should be familiar to anyone who's used the Pocket PC version."

"Fun Little Movies is launching its newest outlet with SmartVideo Technologies, Inc. Fun Little Movies (FLM) joins a robust lineup of entertainment, news, sports, weather, children's and family channels that have put SmartVideo at the forefront of the mobile television revolution. ...With more than 50 million smartphones in use today that can play mobile content - a figure estimated to rise to 250 million by 2008 - creators are starting to produce content aimed directly at smartphones and smart PDAs. FLM is among the most creative, winning recognition for its original live-action comedies that are just a few minutes long yet boast strong storytelling and top-notch talent in front of and behind the cameras. Titles that will be available on SmartVideo's FLM channel include "Spacey Movie," the classic Sci-Fi parody; "Love Bytes," a comedy about 21st century dating that's so cool, it can actually get you a date; and the "Mini Bikers," where little guys on little motorcycles fight crime ... a little at a time. Also available are the kids' comedy "Gagsters," which premieres on the Oxygen network this fall, and hilarious shorts from the makers of PuppetGreetings.com."

It seems that everyone is trying to be your primary source for content on your device. Almost every week we're seeing an announcement about a new music, video, or TV mobile content provider. The best part is that they all seem to be supporting Windows Mobile devices. It's a great sign that the industry understands the power of Windows Mobile, and that it's not a market that Microsoft is going to back away from. :) If you're interested in watching some fun and little movies then check out the trailers and samples available at Fun Little Movies.

Gates Sees Big Dollars in Little Devices

Posted by Jerry Raia in "ARTICLE" @ 03:30 PM

http://news.com.com/Gates+sees+big+dollars+in+little+devices/2008-1016_3-5701477.html?tag=nefd.lede

"Bill Gates doesn't think his company has been slow to crack the cell phone market. He just thinks the little devices have yet to catch up to the power of his company's software. Still, with cell phones quickly gaining the power PCs had not that long ago, Microsoft's chairman sees a bright future, in which the company's operating system can quickly gain share from Nokia and others that run rival software."

Well Bill thinks all he has to do is name something "Outlook" stick it in a phone and we will all rush out to buy it! Bill, it has to work like Outlook too. You don't have to leave almost everything out of the Smartphone version. Further on in the interview we get the "working with others" line. Let me translate that for you: "looking for who we should buy to catch up". I've said before this not like the PC market. Verizon, Cingular, Motorola, to name a few, are enormous and have a lot to say about how this is done like it or not. Last time I checked those giants aren't moving too fast either.

New Qtek 8100 Smartphone with Music and a Little More

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 06:45 AM

Qtek has added the HTC Amadeus to their website, but that's not the good news. On the specifications page under the heading LCD Module following feature is listed: 2.2", 176x220 pixels (need future upgrade to QVGA). Are they hinting at a future ROM upgrade to Magneto? I want QVGA and Magneto, and WiFi too - but that's another post all together. ;) I see this as smart marketing because it will help keep sales strong even as a newer OS is released and they haven't promised anything to the public. At least not yet. ;)

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 06:38 AM

"High Tech Computer Corp. (today announced that total revenues for July 2004 reached NT$ 2,038 million. HTC also announced it's new Smartphone, is the world's smallest Smartphone, has been shipping since August. It will be sold in Europe, US and Asia. "

Did everyone read that last line? ..."It will be sold in Europe, US and Asia" :D By the sounds of things, this phone will be available on Orange's network really soon. Hopefully we will see this in North America shortly after! I'm so happy...
