Fandango Signs Movie Ticket Deal with Cingular

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 09:45 AM

http://news.com.com/Fandango+sells+ticket+deal+to+Cingular/2100-1039_3-6050315.html?tag=fd_nbs_ent&tag=nl.e703

"Fandango, the online movie-ticket seller, will expand its service by adding Cingular Wireless to its roster of cellular partners. Earlier this month, Fandango, which had relied solely upon selling movie tickets via the Internet, began its migration away from the computer by entering a partnership with Sprint Nextel. Other existing partners include TiVo, Tribune Media Services and Amazon's IMDb.com. "Moviegoers are often attached at the hip to their mobile devices," Fandango CEO Art Levitt said Thursday, adding that the service's traffic has doubled from month to month."

Well, well, well; Isn't that special. You can buy your tickets using your cell phone, but don't you dare try to use that cell phone around the theaters.

Motorola Signs Ferrari Designers to Help with Mobile Phone Designs

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 08:45 AM

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/02/28/motorola-signs-ferrari-designer-pininfarina-for-new-phones/

"Italy's Pininfarina, designers of Ferrari cars and the "sexy-but-kind-of-heavy" Olympic torch for the Torino games, have added Motorola to their list of clients. They've signed on for three years and will be producing dozens of phones for Moto, with 10 designers assigned to the project. Motorola is, of course, trying to duplicate the success of the RAZR, but we're just looking forward to a few sexy-but-hopefully-not-so-heavy handsets."

This is pretty interesting news. It shows that the mobile market is really heading towards style and fashion. The inner workings of the phone are not as important as how it looks. The RAZR is a prime example of this. It's a great looking phone, but functionally, it's nothing more than your average feature phone. I'm interested in seeing the results of this 3 year agreement. I hope this means we can see some attractive Windows Mobile Smartphones from Moto in the coming years. :)

T-Mobile Signs Six Carriers to Wi-Fi Roaming Deal

Posted by Jerry Raia in "NEWS" @ 03:00 PM

http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1724025,00.asp?kc=EWRSS03129TX1K0000605

"SAN FRANCISCOT-Mobile's wireless division said Wednesday that it has signed partnership agreements with six other wireless carriers, allowing single sign-on services to 11 countries around the globe."

I use T-Mobile hotspots all the time at airports (like right now) and Starbucks. I like to see that it is expanding even more. :)
