eWallet has been my personal choice for an electronic wallet application for a number of years now. I'm pretty excited about some of the new features they've added in the latest upgrade to this awesome app. If you are already an eWallet user, you can upgrade for free (if you purchased in the last 90 days) or you can buy an upgrade license for $16.95. If you don't have a copy of eWallet at all, you can pick one up from our affiliate store. I've included a list of some of the new features below. I'm off to download and install the update! :D

"System utility that greatly simplifies managing your Smartphone. CopyPaste does exactly what its name says in any editable field edit box. Copy or cut the info from an edit box and paste it to another one. You can also select the necessary part of the edit box contents for copying or cutting to another editable field. CopyPaste saves your time and ink."

Vito has just released a new freeware application - CopyPaste. As you might guess, it allows you to copy and paste information on your Smartphone. This is one of those features that everyone has been asking for and can't believe that it's not a standard part of the OS. Well, you don't have to run out and buy a third party solution any longer. Vito's CopyPaste program is free for everyone to enjoy.

A word of advice for those going to try this out. There is no installer for Vito CopyPaste. Instead, just copy the EXE to your phone (\Storage Card\Program Files\Vito\CopyPaste\VitoCopyPaste.exe) and then using your phones file explorer, create a shortcut in the Start Menu. (\Windows\Start Menu\Accessories) Then you can create a speed dial entry for it. :D

We posted about SmartProfile last month, but I thought it was worth mentioning the latest update. SmartProfile now supports up to 3 overrides per day. SmartProfile will automatically switch your profile based on the appointments you have in your calendar. It also allows you to dictate the profile to be switched to based on the category of your appointment. You can download a 15 day trial from our affiliate store.

This looks like a pretty interesting application. What happens when the application already has a menu assigned to the right softkey? If anyone here installs this, please let the rest of us know how it works. You can download a trial version or purchase a copy for $7.99 at our Affiliate store

Verizon Wireless to Offer Enhanced PIM Functionality

Posted by Mike Temporale in "NEWS" @ 05:45 AM

http://news.vzw.com/news/2004/10/pr2004-10-25a.html

"Verizon Wireless, the nations leading wireless service provider, today announced it will offer an Enhanced Personal Information Management (ePIM) enhancement for Pocket Outlook on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 platform. This enhancement, exclusive to Verizon Wireless customers, gives business customers with Pocket Outlook utilizing Exchange Server 2003 four new and exclusive ePIM functionalities.Available with both Microsoft QuickStart and SmartStart programs for Exchange Server 2003 Mobile Messaging, the new functionalities include:
  • Exchange Server 2003 global address list lookup;
  • Meeting scheduling for mobile users with other contacts;
  • The ability to view free and busy time of other contacts;
  • Access summary information about a scheduled meeting after a meeting request has been configured."
It looks like Jason's complaint about being unable to invite attendees to meetings scheduled on your Smartphone has been solved. Of course, this is only a solution for Verizon customers. :(

Enhancing Smartphone Functionality

Posted by Jason Dunn in "ARTICLE" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/communities/experts/outlook.mspx

"When I finally gave up on my last cell phone, it had been with me for over three years. On top of that, I had been with the same service provider (in its varying forms, merger after merger...) for six years. Needless to say I had accumulated quite a few phone numbers stored in my SIM card and built-in phone memory. Even though I figured out how to download my numbers onto my computer, it was only in the form of a comma separated (.csv) file which did not lend itself well to importing or merging with my Outlook contacts. After tediously copying each and every one of my contacts into Outlook, I was determined not to have to do the same with my new phone.

The greatest appeal my Windows Mobile-based Smartphone had to me was its seamless integration with Outlook. Gone were the days of having to remember which numbers I had to copy from Outlook to my phone and which numbers I had to copy from my phone to Outlook. Now, whether I enter a new contact in Outlook from a vCard file attached to someones e-mail, or I save the caller id number when someone calls me on my Smartphone, when I get home I simply sync my phone with my computer and both are up-to-date!

The Inbox and Calendar functionality are equally as impressive. No more dealing with conduits, duplicate data, and the like. My mailbox and schedule are with me and up-to-date all the time. However, two major pieces of Outlook functionality that I rely on were found lacking on the standard issue Smartphone 2002..."

The article goes on to talk about some of the specific applications that round out his Smartphone experience. Well worth the read if you're new to the Smartphone world and wondering how to enhance your Smartphone.
